146 Kilometers Defying the Weather

The traditional 2h charity runs are an important source of income for the Horyzon programs. The Covid-19 pandemic made it impossible to carry out the runs, especially in the first half of the year, so that two 2h runs had to be cancelled this year.

Necessity is the mother of invention and so Horyzon, together with the organizing committees of the 2h runs Olten and Limmattal, created the first virtual Horyzon 2h run, which took place during the weekend of 26th/27th September. With the "TrackTok" app, which was specially developed by the organizing committee of the Olten 2h run, the running distance and number of steps could be recorded during the two-hour run.

Despite rain, gusty westerly winds and a lack of cheers from an audience, over 20 people throughout Switzerland registered for the virtual run. They ran a total of 146 kilometers that results in a fantastic total donation of 5,708 Swiss francs. This sum benefits all Horyzon programs and helps to continue the valuable work in the respective projects despite the difficult circumstances.
