Dance Theatre in Palestine

Music, dance and theatre are forms of art that can achieve great things in society. This was also the experience of the Horyzon partner organisation East Jerusalem YMCA, which specialises in the inclusion of people with disabilities in society. In only 5 days, 30 young people, 10 of them living with a disability, rehearsed a dance theatre and presented it to an audience of over 300 people. The dance theatre was dedicated to the topics of integration, inclusion and empowerment of people with disabilities. A young man in a wheelchair said after the performance:

"The feeling of performing together on stage was beyond words. It was the first time in my life that I felt encouraged and not judged because of my disability."
