Health program

"Health for all!"

At least half of the world's population has no access to basic health services. Sexual and reproductive health services in particular remain inadequate in low-income countries. "Health for all" is therefore one of the goals of the global strategy for poverty reduction and sustainable development. The Horyzon Foundation is also involved in this major shared goal and contributes to health promotion projects for young people in Uganda, Palestine and Nepal. Horyzon is committed to improving hygiene and basic care by giving around 600 young people access to medical aids and treatment every year. Horyzon also runs numerous courses and workshops on hygiene and other health issues. Sexual and reproductive health is also addressed and the young people in the Horyzon projects expand their knowledge in the areas of sexual violence prevention and family planning. Trained psychologists, lay counselors and other health personnel also help the young people to cope with trauma and provide psychosocial support. Leisure activities such as dance, yoga and art are further helpful elements in dealing with traumatic experiences.
